OAK RIDGE – The public will have a chance to share its thoughts on proposed improvements to a section of N.C. 68 in Guilford County during a public meeting next week.
The project, submitted by the Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and Town of Oak Ridge, calls for making improvements to N.C. 68 and N.C. 150 where they intersect in Oak Ridge. Design options up for discussion include roadway widening and adding turn lanes in some locations and constructing roundabouts.
The purpose of the project is to increase safety and traffic flow along N.C. 68 and improve connectivity for bicyclist and pedestrians. The proposal includes improvements to the intersections at Linville Road and Marketplace Drive.

An informal public meeting is set for Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Oak Ridge Town Hall, located at 8315 Linville Road. The public may drop in at any time during the meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made.
State transportation officials will be present to discuss the project and hear feedback, which will be considered as the project progresses.
