WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation officials have approved $12.2 million worth of resurfacing work for roadways in Forsyth County.
A contract was recently awarded to the Thompson Arthur division of APAC-Atlantic Inc. to resurface 20.8 miles of Forsyth roads, including three sections of Interstate 40 Business and U.S. 52, and a section each of U.S. 311 and N.C. 66.
The work could begin as soon as March with a completion date of September 2020.
This is one of 10 highway, bridge and ferry projects recently awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation. As required by state law, the contracts went to the lowest qualified bidder. They are worth $69.5 million.
