WARSAW – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a lane of Interstate 40 in Duplin County later this month for bridge maintenance.
One of two eastbound lanes of the I-40 bridge over U.S. 117 in Warsaw will close daily between Jan. 14 and Jan. 25. The NCDOT maintenance department will replace bridge joints each of those days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be no detour during these times, but drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid work crews and potential congestion. If drivers use I-40 in the area they are urged to slow down and use extra caution while traveling through the work zone.
