Smoother Ride Ahead for Drivers Near Stokesdale Elementary School

STOKESDALE – The N.C. Department of Transportation bridge maintenance crews will close a portion of Eversfield Road near I-73 in Stokesdale next week for bridge pothole repairs.

The closure will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 19, and will wrap up by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, weather permitting. Local traffic will still be able to access locations on either side of the bridge up to the point of closure.

“Due to the high school traffic in this area it’s imperative we address these pothole issues to maintain the safety of the bridge,” said NCDOT Traffic Supervisor Jeff Brown.

Drivers will be able to detour in both directions around the closure using Oakridge Road, East Harrell Road, N.C. 68, U.S. 158, and Athens Road.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
