LEWISVILLE – N.C. Department of
Transportation bridge contractors will close the right northbound lane of the U.S. 421 bridge where it crosses the Yadkin River for bridge joint
repair work all next week in Forsyth County.
“The
contractor is replacing the aging bridge joints in with more modern joints that
will help seal off the underside of the bridge from water, salts and small
debris,” said NCDOT Bridge Maintenance Engineer Chuck White.
Work will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 2,
through Friday, April 6.
Crews will be working near
traffic and so drivers are reminded to slow down and stay alert in the work
zone.
