Mocksville - The N.C. Department of
Transportation will close the eastbound on and off ramps of U.S. 601 (I-40 Exit 170) starting at
8 p.m. on Friday, April 20, for pavement rehabilitation work in Mocksville.
“These closures are part of the third phase of an
ongoing rehabilitation project on I-40 in Davie County between west of U.S. 601
and Farmington Road which is scheduled for final completion in the summer of
2019,” said NCDOT District Engineer Jeremy Guy.
The
closures are needed so crews can safely remove and replace the old concrete with
new asphalt, ultimately rehabilitating these portions of highway. The closures
will be continual until work is complete no later than 5 a.m. on Monday, April
23.
Motorists can detour using Farmington Road and I-40 West.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information,
stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
