Camp Lejeune - Marine Corps Base Camp
Lejeune welcomed a new DMV mobile office today that will offer Marines, their
families and base employees the opportunity to apply for REAL ID driver
licenses and identification cards.
Located at Hadnot Point Plaza, Holcomb Boulevard, Camp Lejeune, the
mobile unit is parked in the shopping center parking lot at the intersection of
Holcomb Boulevard and Molly Pitcher Drive. It will operate by appointment only
and visit the base on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the first full
week each month, opening from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will not offer road or
knowledge tests. Base personnel may sign up for appointments at Camp
Lejeune's website.
REAL IDs are a single form of identification that will make it
easier to board commercial airlines and enter military installations starting in
2020 when a regular driver license will no longer be accepted as a sole form of
identification.
