The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicle's
driving record request service allows individuals to purchase online a copy of their official driving record – a true representation of the driver's history as it appears in the official DMV records.
NCDMV uses an online service for driving records, called PayIt, that allows you to take advantage of completing multiple services in one secure transaction. PayIt collects a $3 fee per online transaction plus a 1.85 percent card processing fee, These fees are used to deliver quality services more efficiently with no upfront costs to NCDMV. The State of North Carolina does not collect or benefit from the transaction or processing fees.
A North Carolina driver license or ID is required for online requests. Individuals without a license or ID can still obtain a driving record via mail.
