As inspector general, Lonnetta Raynor promotes efficiency and effectiveness in the N.C. Department of Transportation’s programs and operations, conducts audits and investigations to detect fraud, waste, and abuse.
Prior to becoming the agency’s inspector general in February 2022, she served that function in an interim role.
Raynor has more than 25 years of service at NCDOT. She has work experience in various business units including Equipment and Inventory Control, Equipment Depot, Purchasing and Commercial Accounts. During her time at NCDOT, Raynor has served as the agency’s lead auditor and as its audit manager.
Raynor has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management from N.C. Central University in Durham.
She lives in Raleigh and is the proud parent of a daughter.
