ROCKY MOUNT – Services have resumed at most N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles offices impacted by this morning’s global IT outage.
All 115 driver license offices have reopened and are accepting walk-in customers. NCDMV is working to reschedule previously made appointments from this morning.
Most license plate agencies, which are privately-run businesses managed by NCDMV, will remain closed and will reopen on Monday.
People can find out the status of any NCDMV office by visiting
MyNCDMV.gov.
The outage occurred when a software update by CrowdStrike apparently failed.
