Yadkin River Bridge Work Requires Temporary Road Closure

TOBACCOVILLE– The construction of a new N.C. 67 bridge over the Yadkin River will require a temporary road closure starting next week.

Contract crews need to make pavement adjustments on Donnaha Road where it intersects N.C. 67 close to the new bridge straddling the Yadkin-Forsyth county line. The bridge is being built alongside the existing one, causing the highway to be slightly realigned and elevated near Donnaha Road.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Donnaha Road near N.C. 67 to allow contract crews to make the necessary pavement adjustments more safely and expeditiously. N.C. 67 will remain open to traffic.

The closure is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. and last until Friday afternoon.

The detour of Donnaha Road will send drivers onto Ridge, Tobaccoville, Doral and Spainhour Mill roads.

Drivers should anticipate a longer commuter using the detour and approach the work site cautiously.
