GARNER- Weekend construction will close the Jones Sausage Bridge over Interstate 40 to place traffic into the final Diverging Diamond Interchange pattern.
Crews will need to close the bridge from Friday at 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday. When it reopens, there will be two lanes in each direction.
Traffic heading north on Jones Sausage Road will take I-40 East to U.S. 70 Business (Exit 306) and Greenfield Parkway back to I-40 West and Jones Sausage Road.
Traffic wanting to head south on Jones Sausage Road will take I-40 West to Rock Quarry Road (Exit 300A) and I-40 East back to Jones Sausage Road.
Transportation officials remind drivers to remain alert, obey all posted traffic signs and follow instructions of local law enforcement in active work zones.
