CARY – A traffic shift along Interstate 440 and a ramp closure are scheduled to take place overnight this weekend as part of the ongoing Beltline improvements project.
Starting today at 9 p.m.to 10 a.m. Saturday, drivers wanting to continue from I-440 West toward Cary will be required to take Exit 1 toward I-40 and the Crossroads shopping center to access U.S. 1 South/U.S. 64 West.
The ramp from Walnut Street to U.S. 1 South is also expected to close for a period of time during the overnight I-440 shift. Drivers will be detoured to U.S. 1 northbound to I-40 to access U.S. 1 South.
Transportation officials advise drivers to slow down, remain alert and follow all posted signs in the work zone.
