Construction Requires Permanent Road Closure

LEXINGTON-The N.C. Department of Transportation in cooperation with the City of Lexington and the Siemens Mobility contractor will permanently close a portion of a Davidson County Road for road and site construction.

Brown Street will be permanently closed west of Old Linwood Road, at the future Siemens Mobility site, starting 9 a.m. Monday.  Affected properties will have temporary access via Prospect Street and LFI Complex Lane.

The closure is required to facilitate the construction of the Siemens manufacturing facility.  As part of the overall economic development project, a permanent access road is being designed to connect Henry Link Road and Old Linwood Road.  Construction of the future access road is expected to be complete by late 2024.

A guided detour will utilize Old Linwood and Cotton Grove Roads, and South Main Street.
