WINSTON-SALEM – Starting tonight, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close lanes and ramps on Interstate 40 in Forsyth County throughout the week for an ongoing rehabilitation and bridge preservation project, weather permitting.
The following lane closures are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- Tonight, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from Peters Creek Parkway to Hanes Mall Boulevard.
- Tonight, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from east of Highway 66 to west of Highway 66.
- Tonight, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from west of Highway 66 to east of Highway 66.
- On March 23, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from Peters Creek Parkway to Hanes Mall Boulevard.
- On March 23, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from east of Hanes Mall Boulevard to west of U.S. 52.
- On March 23, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from west of Highway 66 to east of Highway 66.
- On March 23, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from east of Highway 66 to west of Highway 66.
- On March 24, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from Peters Creek Parkway to Hanes Mall Boulevard.
- On March 24, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from east of Hanes Mall Boulevard to west of U.S. 52.
- On March 24, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from west of Highway 66 to east of Highway 66.
- On March 24, the ramp from Silas Creek Parkway is scheduled to be closed from sometime after midnight to 5 a.m. the following morning with a detour.
The following closures will be from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning:
- Tonight, the ramp onto I-40 West from Peters Creek Parkway is scheduled to be closed. A signed detour will be in place.
- On March 23, the ramp onto I-40 West from Peters Creek Parkway is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
- On March 24, the ramp from I-40 East (Exit 192) to Peters Creek Parkway is scheduled to be closed. A signed detour will be in place directing motorists to U.S. 52 and to I-40 West to return to Peters Creek Parkway.
- On March 24, the ramp from Peters Creek Parkway to I-40 East is scheduled to be closed. A signed detour directing motorists to I-40 West and Hanes Mall Boulevard will be in place.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
