Required Definition Files: standard
Reference Standard No. : 240.01
The berm ditch criteria files are designed to allow the designer to add berm ditches to the cross sections after the proposed templates have already been run.
By default, this criteria finds the slope stake tie point of the cross section file to locate the origin of the ditch. It does so by tracing the finished grade elements of the cross section template to the ground. The level symbology of the finished grade elements must be defined for the criteria using the DEFINE_DGN variable "PROPOSED XS" as detailed below.
The ditch typical conforms to standard 240.01 in that the front slope is 2:1, the back slope is variable with a maximum of 2:1. The only deviation from the standard is the option of specifying profile grades to be used in setting the ditch point.
Berm ditch criteria is designed to draw the ditch flow point and the back slope catch point into a plan view file - at the same time it is drawing the cross section ditches. Note the standard berm ditch width is 6' plus any additional ditch base width.
User Defined Variables
"BRM01 USE DITCH GRADE"
Defined as 1 when a special ditch grade profile is to be used in locating the
ditch point elevation. If defined as 0, then a standard ditch depth of 1 Ft
(0.3084 M) is used.
Default definition = 0
"BRM01 DITCH GRADE RIGHT"
Define as the name of the GEOPAK profile to be used in locating the ditch point
elevation on the right side of the cluster. If BRM01 USE DITCH GRADE is not
defined or defined as 0, definition of BRM01 DITCH GRADE RIGHT is not necessary.
"BRM01 DITCH GRADE LEFT"
Define as the name of the GEOPAK profile to be used in locating the ditch point
elevation on the left side of the cluster. If BRM01 USE DITCH GRADE is not defined
or defined as 0, definition of BRM01 DITCH GRADE LEFT is not necessary.
"PROPOSED XS"
Defined via DEFINE_DGN with the symbology of the proposed finish grade elements
of the typical cross section.
Example:
DEFINE_DGN "PROPOSED XS"\
DGN = R2006_RDY_XSC_L.DGN\
LVNAME = PROP XS FINISH GRADE*
"BRM01 OFFSET"
Define as the distance from the slope stake point to the origin of the berm
ditch.
Default definition = 5 (Ft) or 1.5 (M)
"BRM01 BASE WIDTH"
Define the base width of the berm ditch.
Default definition = 0 (no base, 'V' ditch)
"BRM01 DRAW IN PLANVIEW"
Defined as 0 to not prompt the user for the ability to draw into the plan
view file while simultaneously the berm ditch is being drawn in the cross
section.
Default definition = 1
This information is employed by the criteria to find the slope stake point which is usually the origin of the ditch.
