Never received your title?

If you have not received your vehicle's title you will have to request a Duplicate Title.

The duplicate title fee can be waived if the original title is issued within 60 days of requesting a duplicate.

Title in possession of lienholder?
  • Vehicle's registered owner provides all documentation & fees
  • DMV will then recall title from recorded lienholder

Corrections/Replacement of Title

Corrected Titles, Substitute Titles or Replacement Titles can be requested in the following situations.

  • Name change due to marriage, divorce, court order or naturalization
  • To correct an error on original title
  • Significant vehicle modification

If requesting a Corrected/Replacement Title due to name change, you are required to bring your updated Driver License reflecting the change.

Affidavit of Facts ( MVR-28 ) Required in the case of vehicle modifications.

Duplicate Title

If the original title for a vehicle has been lost, the registered owner can apply for a duplicate or copy of the original title. All requests for duplicate titles must age 15 days.
